ten things about episcopalians

1. LITURGY.  There is majesty and mystery in their historic liturgy.

2. CONTINUITY.  They have an unbroken continuity with the Early Church and the heritage of the Apostolic faith.

3. REFORMED AND CATHOLIC.  They are both Reformed and Catholic in doctrine and liturgy.

4. THE BIBLE.  They hold the centrality of the Holy Scriptures without being bound by literalism.

5. REASON.  They use their God-given reason and possess a theology that does not require a person to "leave his or her brain at the door of the church."

6. TRINITARIAN.  They are Trinitarians who acknowledge and celebrate the on-going work of the Holy Spirit in the world.

7. WORSHIP.  They use a variety of worship styles from modern charismatic praise to the liturgy of the high church.

8. TOLERANT.  In a time of intolerance, they are a church community that celebrates difference, and is open-minded.

9. MINISTRY.  They have a ministry which is the obligation of ALL baptized persons -- not just the clergy -- and not just men.

10. JESUS CHRIST.  They live in a worshipping community in which there is consensus in Christ and not in
conformity of opinion -- common prayer rather than common thought.
